From May 26 to 4 June 1940, Dunkirk was the stage for the largest evacuation effort in military history

338 000 Allied soldiers were evacuated on a flotilla of more than 800 ships. This day tour comprises the story of Operation Dynamo; a visit to the impressive Fort des Dunes, Operation Dynamo Museum and Dunkirk’s British Memorial and Cemetery which commemorates the 4582 soldiers of the British Expeditionary Force who died this time and who have no known grave. We also visit and visit the Beaches; when at low tide the wrecks and remnants of battle and evacuation can be seen (subject to conditions on the day)
